Excellent skin tone and finish
I will say though that I am not a great fan of the 'white dot on the eye' method of implying a gloss reflection. I prefer to layer lacquer on the eye to simulate the real thing. Just a personal view.
Impressive! Thanks for posting. Any more images of your work?

Hi Mark, Fred & All!
Nice job "yanksman"...a promising start indeed!
...and yes! skin tones and their "lights & shadows" make all...

as said before...absolutely great! Great inspiration. I am working on my very first mannequin. I finished painting the hands now so I could practise a bid. Now I am adjusting the head, but still lots of work to be done before I can even begin with the paintjob of the head.
Thanks for showing your work guys... it's a great inspiration. Nice to see everybody has his own methods with totally different outcomes.

Hi to All,
There's some nice mannequins (even none painted) from quality brands as J.Nissen, Hindsgaul, Rootstein and C° and painted them is a guaranty of nice results as shown in the post before...
...but there's also "poor" mannequins with caricatural and inexpressive faces, dolls eyes and unrealistic aspects which seems "unworkable" for (good) militaria displays...
...but some touch of paint can save them and change everything!
Best to All!
Thierry
That one painted by request for a friend on a BDC mannequin base that normally would not for me...but finally...
Schumi!?!
