Speakig of Dutch, here is a 1 page (no advertisements) special edition Dutch newspaper announcing the capitulation of the Dutch Army...Note all the blank space...non of the other news mattered...not news worthy!
Its framed with period Dutch Army postcards (mobilization period)
BTW the torn off corner has to do with me owning a dog...Attached Files

This came in yesterday...I have a ton of US dress uniforms which I've never shown (yet) ...these are a dime a dozen in the States, but this one is neat!
It a pre-war 4 pocket service tunic with pre war bi-swing back which was altered (by a tailor in the UK poerhaps?) into a more fashionable "Ike" tunic! Note pleatless pockets and buttonless straight pocket flaps! USAAF 8th airforce Sergeant. In the meantime I did add collar discs which were missing. You could tell they were on it at one time!Attached Files

close up
RIASC = Royal Indian Army Service Corps
I have a feeling he served in India initially but his unit got sent to the Italian Theatre, where he was issued this US War Aid battle dress jacket,
commonly seen in that theatre. Note lanyard which came with the uniform!Attached FilesLast edited by NickG; 10-02-2009, 04:54 PM.

Uniform and great coat of the same RCAF airman. He never served outside of Canada during the war
and most likely served as a ground crew member in one of the commonwealth flight training schools in Canada.
His jacket and overcoat both 1942 dated (issued together to same man and worn through-out the war).Attached Files
