Very nice collection and I'm happy to see that the origin of each item has been carefully documented. The documentation of this historical grouping will serve you and/or future collectors well.

In that regard, I feel like making one point in response to the suggestion that you "NEVER" sell the collection. My thoughts are that if in the future it becomes clear that no one in your family will care for these items, then you may want to consider passing them along to a collector who will keep the items intact and care for them. This is the policy that I will employ (in my old age) with my own collection, which includes a few items that originated from within my family.

My personal view is that it is far better for a collector to cherish and preserve the items than to leave them to a blood relative who could care less. With the uncaring relative, the inevitable result will be a sale (and possible breaking up) of the items.

I recently picked up a really nice 98k rifle here in the U.S. that came from an American WWII veteran's estate. The vet was so sure his son would want the rifle that it is mentioned specifically in the vet's will. Well, guess what? Soon after the vet died and the will was probated, the son picked up his newly inherited rifle and took it to the local gun show and sold it. I happened to pick it up a few weeks later from the dealer who purchased it as a walk-in at the show. In the U.S. this type of disposition of WWII veteran's war memorbilia is quiet common and, in my view, probably the rule rather than the exception.

Anyway, just a few thoughts that you may want to consider. Again, nice collection you have there.
