I don't think these buckles were worn, just a few collector handling marks over the years I expect.

Not all Luftwaffe! This is the more rare grey subdued type. You can see the difference when it's next to a standard lighter off-white one.

Not all German! This is a British Home Guard helmet, 1941 dated and from the family. It was worn, but only briefly.

British swords:-

A Royal Navy Officers sword (1919 made, but used in WW2 - with the owner's full service history and more, and the uniform) in exceptional condition. I've personally never seen one in better condition, though I'm sure they are out there!

Also a British 1897 pattern (1930's made) in unissued condition made by Wilkinson Sword. This was allegedly deemed the 'perfect sword' by the British Army, but ironically it came into service as the sword was at the end of it's life as a weapon. The British Army finally discovered what the Roman's had known all along, the sword is most deadly as a thrusting weapon!

An unissued British made import Artillery button made for the Confederacy. The Gold leaf will keep buttons like this in perfect condition for a very long time, long after we are all gone!

If I wanted a full set of these (11 on a 'Richmond Depot' type 2 pattern jacket), and on an original Confederate States uniform , I would have to sell everything in my collection and the shirt on my back. Collecting CS, another world....

An unissued CSA button (British made import). Very few CSA's were issued and worn, perhaps only in late 1864/ 1865. Lots were found in Nassau (Bahamas) after the war, still crated up, as some did not make it through the Union blockade. Nassau was a staging post for the CS blockade runners.
