The End of My First Year Here

Well Gentlemen, I'd like to show the few things I have been fortunate to collect over the years. The last year has seen a GREAT improvement in my collection. I have sold off some things in order to upgrade, and I think I have done OK!

I was able to get these photos before the cloud cover came up. This eventually led to a light rain, and it kept me from bringing out the pistols!

I tried to be a little artistic ( ) and threw in some photos as well. Since I do not have a "room" (5 kids preclude that!) I set it up on my patio as an "outdoor museum".

The first set of photos are my Heer items but include a HJ knife.

Some EK2's, an ost medal, GAB and IAB. HJ knife is marked Solingen and has a skipper stamped on it. As a young collector of 15, I decided to "fix" it by having the scabbard painted in the machine shop at my dad's workplace. It was worn to the metal.

From left to right, starting in the center:

another Heer M40 - real combat vet
            KM M40

No makers marks on the EK 2's or the Ost medal

My first tunic - A waffenrock for an NCO in the 6th company, 71st Infantry Regt. of the 29th Motorized Div. the "Falke" Division. I am trying to get a photo album from a guy of the 6th Company/71st Infantry now. This will make a nice little addition. I also have a portrait of an NCO from the 71st in waffenrock and visor on the way.

Pips and numbers were added before I bought it. I left it as is.

This originally brought up some discussion - KM or toned Heer. The general concensus was KM. That is what I bought it as.

                          KM M40 - EF66 named.

                            Now to the Luftwaffe!

The tunic is for a Major and is complete with breeches. The ribbon bar includes the EK2, Ost medal and service award. It is a very nice and complete set except for the visor! Has award loops that are possibly for an EK1 and Pilots badge.
