Are Helmet stands good for helmets?

Hi folks, I have a few German helmets from WWI & WW2 and they currently live sitting on an elevated shelf out of harms way. I often see on this forum and else where the use of helmet stands and although they look good, I wonder, does the weight of these lids bearing down on 60year old leather and fabric ties long term do them any good? Some of the leather in my helmets has lost its softness and is brittle and could not stand a stand, just a thought,

Most helmet stands don’t use the liner for support. The top of most stands (I am talking about the wood and acrylic stands you see most often) are no more than 2 inches in diameter and can fit through most liners. The top of the dome of the helmet supports the weight and not the liner.

Thanks for that, the only type I had looked at had relied on the lined and I couldn't see that being too healthy,
