      Andre,
      You have two options to frame medals. Firstly when you don't want to see the back of the medal, you use two pieces of backing board with the ribbon between them to hold the medal in place in the cut out in the front board. You paste the backing board together not the ribbon. see this example of and ek 2.

          The second option work basically the same as the first, but you can see the back of your medals. You again use two backing boards cut exactly the same. Fit the medals between the two backing boards in the cut outs. Only difference , in this case you put glass on both sides. Hope this will assist. Jacques

                  The awards are mounted over copies of the original documents . I never frame original doc's they get damaged by the light. Rather keep them filed away.

                            Sander, thanx. You are right about the internet. I have lately bought some tunic of the net, been lucky (it is a jungle). The problem in South Africa is a real lack of original german militaria. I have however found that much better quality and value is to be found on this forum. Got some beautiful tunics here.
