Inspired by Dave Suter, I have taken a few photos of various uniforms I have in my collection --- and will run these here from time to time. This mannequin setup is of a Luftwaffe Hauptmann.
According to regulations, this uniform combination is not correct in that the brocade belt was not worn after 1 September 1939 and this officer is wearing some wartime badges. However, some of the textbooks feature portraits where the officers donned all of their regalia for the photo to include the aguillette and brocade. Thus, I have taken some license here with this display.
Under the aguillette, you will see a Spanish Cross in bronze. His badges include a medal bar with long service medal and Czech annexation. He wears a Pilot's Badge (GWL), silver DRL badge, an EK1, and black wound badge. All are original.
The visor cap is a mint condition EREL "Privat" model. It is in unissued condition with original tissue paper still packed in the interior. I will run some photos of this hat --- for everyone's study --- at a later time. Once you have handled originals like this, there is no mistaking reproductions, I can assure you.
The breeches are not original with the tunic. They are named and maker marked to a Munich tailor. As you will note, they are of a slightly different shade of fabric (not uncommon).
