I pulled my medal collection out of the bank for a photo shoot in this display case. I think it would be a nice display at a show, thus the case. The cases are made locally in Iowa and have the nice border and are made of walnut. It looks pretty nice all set up. Here it is.

Outstanding collection!
But I can't resist some constructive criticism. That red velveteen stuff hurts my eyes and looks like you skinned Tickle Me Elmo! Swap it for black velvet, that's a high class backdrop for high class collection. The original boxes for these awards were lined in black velvet, by design.

The velvet can be switched easily. There are a few different options.
The pieces are juncker 800 L/12 X3, juncker RK 800 X2, juncker 800 dot, Juncker unmarked neusilber X2, juncker micro 2 RK, juncker standing 2 RK, K&Q RK, S&L 800 RK, 3/4 ring RK, schickle L/15 RK.
DKiGs are six rivet deschler X2, zimmerman light, zimmerman heavy, klein, deschler "1", godet '21', godet, juncker unmarked.
The RK KVKs are deschler 900 "1".

Tom!
Very nice display and I personally would take the risk and would display it in my house. Actually I do!
I think 'black' or a 'dark grey' (like Wehrmachtuniforms) would do best. Of course, you would need to add a little folded ribbon tho each RK. That brings back the color.
Very, very nice. But nothing for the bank. Money is for the bank, orders are for the eye!

Tom,
unless you are talking about a 'contract' brake-in you can assume that burglars are stupid people for starters and are not knowing, looking for Juncker RK's. They rather drag a $ 500,- 5 year old TV out than your big frame. Or jewellery. Things that bring fast money. You know how they are!
And yes, ribbopns are a must - especially on a black or grey background!

Outstanding Tom, and thanks for sharing with us.
As long as you are asking....
I like to photograph on black, as it is an "absence of color" and presents a piece for inspection without distraction. For display however, I would go for some approximation of field grey. Best of luck with whatever ribbon application you attempt, it will be a real challenge to bring it off well.
Furthermore, that is a lot of do-re-mi there. Be sensible, it belongs in the bank. Take them out and fondle 'em once in a while, or take a couple-few and hang on the wall. But, lock 'em up.
That's my buck three eighty's worth! Thanks again.
