My Collection of ODM's & Militaria

    Dear Friends,

I have never posted pictures from my actual collection, and only few from my Imperial/ Third Reich Germany... so here we go.

First to remind us which forum this actually is:
    EK1 1939

The following crosses are in this picture:

    Cased ones from the top:

    "L/12" - Screwback
    "L/10", "20", "L/19" and "100"
    "L/54", "107", "L/50", "15", Round 3 and "65"

    Ones in riker case are:

    "L/11", "3"
    "6", "7"
    "L/58", "L/16", "L/52"

Waiting for two more to arrive next week...

Certificate is to Ober.leutnant Kuhnow (DKiG) and picture is Dietl (wartime card with signature)

    more to come...

    Imperial Collection part 1

    Imperial collection;

I first collected only EK equalents, but later on may add others with same status (Decoration from one state, given for gallantry)

Nothing special - Lippe Detmoldt 1st class is interesting variation and EK1 is very nice Screwback construction from WW1 period.

Imperial Collection Part2 and Finnish groups related to our Liberation war.

In this picture, there are 10 medal bars, which 8 are attributed.
(Three more groups I have did not fit in)

Bottom line has German bars (Baltic Division soldiers who entered Finland during our Liberation war to help whites) - though one in right bottom corner was Pilot instructor for finnish pilots at Rugen Island in late 1918.

If you have anything to ask about the other groups i'll be happy to help.

        Just a small curiosity,

That is actual map, that was given to finnish volunteers who came to Germany between 1915-1917 to get military education. Later they were formed as Jaeger Battallion 27.

Pictures are one of the Jägers and map was originally his. The place in map is Lockstedt near Baltic sea.

          My favourite poster.

Original Recruitment poster for NORSKE LEGION.

I like the way finnish flag is used in that poster. I have heard that Norwegians were told that they would just go to finnish front to fight Soviets near Norway... I do not know what the real plan was....

This and the next one are actually part of my primary field of collecting:

Order, medals, badges and other related material from
Finnish Liberation (1918) war and later wars of kindred nations (1919-1922).

I just crossed the point, that items I need are extremely rare (awarded 10-30 times) and extremely expensive. I get perhaps 1 new item in a year in to this collection, which is 85% of the value of my collection.

Do not hesitate ask questions - I will not name the badges on next two pics separately.

Finnish Liberation (1918) war and later wars of kindred nations (1919-1922).

                Continues...

Some of the enamelled orders are extremely beautiful. There is reason for the quality. Gold smiths from Faberge and elsewhere from St.Petersburg fled to Finland because of revolution in Russia - and continued their career here. Many of those were originally finnish.

So we got quite a company of experts in that field - and naturally those are the guys that manufactured most of our Liberation war medals 1918 and afterwards...

                Thanks for lookinG!!!!!

I bet you can guess which portion of your collection is my favorite. That is a truly nice assortment of EKs you have gathered up. As for the other awards, it looks as though you have a very nice collection overall, my congrats

                        Jani,

A lovely and focused collection. I rarely see things regarding the Finnish front of the war, so this is just a real treat!

                        Thanks,
                        Marc
