This Adrian stile italian helmet is most likely a relic from the stab in the back attack of Italy on France in June 1940.

Bullet damaged Folgore division italian paratrooper helmet. I like it so much, I made my avatar out of it.

German helmet itllustarting the paradoxal very well kept, and at the same time extremely damaged condiion of items found in extremely humid ground. One side is very well kept, the other non visible side is a total ruin. Interestingly, the ruined side has some rubber inner tube left on it, while the same innertube almsot disapeared totaly on the nice side. There are remanents visible thow.

A WW1 MG that somehow found its way into a local southern France river.

And now, to the allied stuff. First a few commowealth souvenirs, including an item I like very much, a foldable soup serving spoon.

The said spoon. I like it a lot for some reason. I think the marking indicates India?

US flight jacket found for 20$ in a flee market. Not in the best of conditions, but original.

The strange thing cut off on the left of the picture is some kind of mass that was on the tail of british gliders. This one was taken from a glider that landed in southern France.

The other items were forgotten by the First Special Service Force and the oposing Germans on a local battlefield. This is how they ended up there (dont ask me why the color change in the text. Some kind of magic I suspect ) :

We got to Grasse and then down to Roquefort, it was at night; it was dark as hell. We were coming into town, we were probably out about a mile, not even a mile. I sent a scout out ahead, I think his name was Parker, and he reported back everything looks OK. He no sooner got back and apparently the Germans saw him and started to mortar us pretty good, and we lost captain Hubbard, he lost an eye, and we lost several other fellows. To my knoleage, none was killed, but there was several others wounded yet, yeah.

Now, the only very rare item of my collection, the 517th PIR modified helmet of Marvin Moles, I company. Most of you have already seen it, but I recently took these nicer pictures.

Cute back side, ilustrating how having cloth in contact with metal can cause the metal to rust on the long term (be carefull with those camo covers.) if the conditions are humid . In this case the chinstrap was passed over the neck guard.

Fantastic helmet! Good stuff but when I saw that modified helmet...whew! Worthy of publication.
