first off this is a open forum so this thread is addressed to everyone! It's my time to "intrude",however, and tell you and the rest of the lot that I have personally seen this display at a militaria fair in Italy last June, and the cap is quite different in the flesh when compared to the pictures, whose quality is not very good..sorry for that Luca! The cap is a genuine,42 production bergmutze and the lining material is the same as the lining found on the vast majority of the M35/M40 tunics, and that the nap of the wool is not that "fresh",since the cap shows traces of use WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE, albeit not that heavy! Please take into consideration that it's quite "risky" to give opinions like yours without an hands on inspection of the cap, especially if you don't know that Luca is a "rookie" re-enactor who wears this very cap each time, both for re-enactions and photo sessions....afaik that's the only mountain cap he's got, apart from a very nice collection of AUTHENTIC tropical M41s, and there are "re-enacting days" during which he wears this cap "9 to 5"...hence the fresh-looking signs of wear(sweat) around the edge of the lining;these are things you'd have known before giving your opinion, much welcome but a bit too overhasty! This cap has all it takes to be considered a very, very nice WH mountain cap,and I can say that because I've seen it in the flesh several times and it's worlds different from the new amazing fakes which have been discussed!
              Have nice day.
Lord, please don't tell me reenactors are wearing (and wearing out) original WW2 items!

Heisafari was Manny. I just wonder why he felt it was necessary to use a sock puppet to comment on your cap, seems suspicious. Did he sell it to you?
