    My compliments!
Actually, It is LT Mohr, I got the uniform from head to toe directly from him in 1997.

Leutnant Mohr was born, 10 August 1924 and entered service on 16 Feb, 1943. He was promoted to Leutnant on 1 August 1944. He served in Italy, near Monte Cassino, Salerno and then on the Western Front. He was severely wounded to the lung in the spring of 1945.

I should have a head made to look like him. Below is photo of him in this uniform. He was with the 115 PZ Gren Regt 15th PZ Gren Division.

        fantastic thanks for sharing
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Alexandre, I am not sure just how you can make an informed assessment based on the two photos that I posted of the Swamp pattern smock? The photos were distance shots with no details?

I picked the smock up from a long time friend at the SOS earlier this year. A number of folks who are on this forum (and are considered experts in the hobby) gave it a hands on inspection and the two thumbs up. A few of them have tried to buy it from me It is not for sale!

Granted, this is a difficult hobby with a number of fakes. I go to great lengths to make sure that all the items that I acquire are original. You may have noticed that from my earlier postings.

Cloth items more often than not, require a hands on inspection. However, I am always willing to learn. So, please share your knowledge if you have some informed details or justifications for your analysis of my smock.

                    Hello Cassidy,

Here is my explanation (sorry about my poor english)
Until now I have never handled, seen or heard about an original sumpf
luft ground troops smock made with HBT.
You will find many thread about "sumpf HBT" in this forum, IMO
I am not alone to have this opinion and I don't think the member gran sasso asked more pics of your smock just by curiosity.
I believe HBT material sumpf printed was produced before 45 but never
seen yet a guenine piece made with*.
So please to post more detailled pics, I am open minded about late war uniforms production and if this one is finally period done, that could be a very interesting discover

*except , if my memory is correct a salty Italian gabardine M44 pants with internal pocket made with pieces of sumpf HBT

Hey, your English is great! Now, I understand what you were getting at.

I read the postings and tried to catch up on the question of the HBT Sumpf Ground Smock. I will see what I can do about photos and maybe open up a separate thread so that we can all learn something.

This will be good. It should be interesting.

                      Thanks,

Roger that, I will start a thread in the uniform forum on the question of HBT Ground Smocks. I will try to include some detailed photos. What details do you want to see? What are you looking for?

At the SOS, I recall that there was some talk about a new book coming out that had period photos of HG Division troops wearing these? If this is true, it would be helpful.

Marking, lining, eagle, buttons holes will be enough!
About some new period pics of HG wearing sumpf smock, that a good new, but I will be surprised to see those made with HBT.
Just for information, these smock were made with

                            -smooth cotton
                            -heavier slightly ribbed cotton

                            For the splinter type :

                            -HBT
                            -smooth cotton
                            -heavier slightly ribbed cotton
