It looks like a souvenir Hptm Ehrmann got on the battle fields in WWI from a British soldier. Maybe some British forum member can tell to which regiment this badge belonged... just a wild guess!

    Ciao,

    Claudio

      Cap Badge

That's right, it's the cap badge of the Royal Fusilieers.

        Giday Akira,

The English cap badge belongs to the Northumbaland Fusiliers. For memory, the moto on the badge should read Quo Fata Vogant, or something similar to that. Unfortunately I am at work and I don't have any reference books with me.

My grandfather was a member of the Northumbaland Fusiliers. Consequently, when ever I see a Northumbaland Fusilieers badge for sale at a fair, I usually buy it.

Akira, if you want any info about the Northumbaland Fusiliers, please drop me a line.

        Best wishes,

        Ian

          Giday Akira,

I may be wrong, but based upon the badges in my collection, your Northumbaland Fusiliers badge looks to be of World War 2 vintage.

          Best wishes,

          Ian

Thank you for interesting comments! Had no idea what it is, the time I spent for scanning has already paid!

To conclude this thread I think I need one of his photograph. May Herr Ehrmann rest in peace.

.... Definitely the The Northumberland Fusiliers. The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was formed in 1968 from the Northumberland Fusiliers.

P.S. Great stuff Akira. I envy your library
