Saw a guy on the 98k Forum using tool bar magnets under cloth to display bayonets vertically. What a great way to display items made of iron, Iron crosses, etc. I'm probably the only dummy that has never heard of this. Are any of you guys doing it?

Magnets for Displays

I've never heard of it, sounds like a great idea. I'd like
to display them vertically on a wall without hanging them
from the belt loop of the frog.
This could be done with daggers as well, you would need
to take care not to damage the scabbard.
Something to work on with time off, thanks
for the idea swjXE.

I love your NCO sword rack. Did you make it to custom fit your swords and rifles, or did you find it already made?
Also, have you found that your bayonet display magnetizes the bayonets?

I sent you a PM with website link on the NCO stand. It's actually a rotating gun rack with lower (carbine) stand for upper frame. the inserts on the NCO Stand are also magnetic, so the metal scabbards help hold the NCO swords in place. One half the rack is NCO sword variants, and the other side are my variants of the Arisaka rifles (with a K98 in there for good measure .
To answer your 2nd question ... NOPE, no problem with the scabbards or bayonets becoming magnetic, and I have had my NCO swords on this stand for over 5 years. The key is the felt. You don't want magnetic metal directly on metal or you are right - the scabbard may become magnetic. Cheers - Dan
