Years ago I spied this Action Doll likeness of Rommel and finally I have acquired my own. This inspired me to have a meet your Hero photo shoot with my collection of 12" WWII Action Dolls. Opening shot is the cornerstone of my collection and my toy collecting muse Law & Order. Law is a 12" talking (mumbling now) GI JOE contained in an old shot up (by .177 pellets) vinyl GI JOE footlocker Dad got me at a yard sale in 1980. This would be my first action doll, and the contents of said box surely shaped my mind in an almost obscene way. The clothing was that of the French Resistance Fighter, a black sweater, jeans, a black beret, and boots, not typical Military, but I was four. What left the lasting impression was the small arms contained in the footlocker, there was a Luger, an MP40, two MAS38's, both missing barrels and one it's stock (I much later fabricated barrels, and recently a stock). That set in my mind a fascination with what started as WWII German Equipment and Uniforms, later Aircraft and Engineering, now History and the ideology of Benevolent Christian Fascism.

I name and try to make likeness of my kitbashed dolls after characters from GI JOE and Cobra. Another lifelong interest of mine. Someone once told me they made live action movies about GI JOE, I saw what they did and I still don't believe what that someone said. Some also say lunacy is a detriment, I see it as more of a privilege. -

See this is the kind of thing that happens when you let the Chinese manufacture anything. Can't even get the cap correct on the most important figure in 20th century warfare. Why Japan, why?
