WH printed Pz breast eagle

Never knew there was a printed eagle on a black background.

Very interesting,

this type of printed eagle is controversial. Most are unfolded and not sewn on. Like Jim, this is a first for me on Panzer black background plus it looks like it has be worn/ used. Hopefully Fred has seen it.

Is this proof of real use of this type or not ???

Printing technique does not look consistent with original printed insignia, to me. Specifically, the way the ink sits on the wool surface. Period printing techniques generally saturated the fibers and bled through to the other side, even on wool, as with flags for example. I suspect this could be an old Patch King copy made in USA.

To me it is a match in pattern of this eagle. This eagle was purchased by me from Helmut Weitze about 10 years ago for around 23euro. Herr Weitze is still selling them but for 65,Euro now

I have never cared for this style /pattern/type of eagle on this green material and now on this black material.

The paint-like ink applied to the wool woven background with no real ink penetration looks like a hobby-shop production to me, not German WWII industrial work.

I think this is clearly a replica.
