    Calling all Hallmarks/Makers!

Okay I've looked at the new "Call to Duty" and I was a little disappointed that there wasn't much about Hallmarks. I would like to start a thread where we can have a source of Hallmarks and contractors of US Decorations and Medals.

Here are some that I know

    Medallic Art Co.

    American Emblem Co., INC.

    Bailey, Banks & Biddle

    Whitehead & Hoag

    Robbins Co.

    G-23 - Ira Green

    G-27 - Graco industries

    Graco Gi

    HLI-Gi - His Lordship Industries

    LI-GI - Lordship Industries

    Anymore?

    Charlie -

Went through my boxed medals and came up with some additional manufacturer's labels:

Swank, Inc., Attleboro, Mass. - Bronze Star Medal

Heckethorn Mfg. & Supply Co., Litleton, Colo. - American Theater Medal

    U.S. Mint - USN/USMC/USCG Campaign Medals

Volupte, Inc. - Antarctica Service Medal

J.R. Wood Products Corporation - WWII Victory Medal

The D.L. Auld Company - Am. Def. Medal & WWII Victory Medal

Uncas Mfg. Co. - WWII Army Good Conduct Medal

Daniel Smilo & Sons Inc., N.Y. - Nat. Def., Humane Action & Army Reserve

General Products, Providence, R.I. - Army Occupation Medal

Rex Products - Purple Hearts & WWII Victory

    Regards,

    Gary

I don't remember where I got this, but it is from a two page hard copy that I have kept in the files.

That's a great list of military insignia manufacturers, but did they all make medals?
Here are a few I didn't see on the list.

Silverman Brothers (5-11-44 dated Good Conduct cardboard box)

Freeman Daughaday Co. (8-16-43 dated Purple Heart Cardboard box)

N.S. Meyer Inc. (1943 dated Silver Star cardboard box)

Krew Inc (9-57 dated National Defense Medal cardboard box)

                          Allan

That is a great list of post Korean War insignia manufacturer's codes and names. It's always driven me nuts wondering who D22 or 6U or 7M, etc. were.

Believe me, I've made a hard copy of the list and will have it with me from now on.

                            Thanks!

Here are a few that are not on the list and I don't know the manufacturer. Maybe someone can help to identify them.

12C. I have seen this only on USAF wings, probably Vietnam period.

                              2S.
