Sardinien / Sardinia Schild worn on Uniforms !

Hi Guys. I collect for Years all Unit-Insignias, among them the "Sardinien-Schild". The Insignia itself is not very common, but "rare" would be IMO exagerated. Concerning nice Portraits or pics with the Insigia being worn, I have the clear Feeling that this time, the word "RARE" can be easily used (Except for the well-known Portraits from General Ernst-Günther BAADE wearing this Insignia...).... What is your opinion ? Would you agree to share your "Sardinien-Pics" on the Forum ??
Thereafter my best-one, a Sergent from the Pz.Jäg.Abt.190. Then, 2 Pics coming from the Album from J. Spreier, Gren.Rgt.361 (mot.), showing the Insignia worn and painted on a Truck from the Unit. The Signification of the "M" would be of Interest too ?
Thanks to all Users accepting to share their Treasures in this Matter.
Last but not Least, excuse the quite exagerated "Copyright" on them, but I don't want to see these Pics appearing without Permission on other Websites or Publication. <p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/i/y/iyWJ5KxSkAdg134125844916P1683.jpg"></p> <p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/6/J/6JPnFzIQcpG4134125845578P1683.jpg"></p> <p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/L/g/Lge19Unf208K134125846313P1683.jpg"></p>

        Very nice Lionel,

I have a few groups to Div.Sardinien/90 PzGren.Div. however none that mention the Sardinienschild!
However, I do have a couple of photo albums/diaries and to be honest never looked for cap emblems....will take another look later!

Ian, your Help in this Matter would be highly appreciated. I am a crazy Collector from all Division-UNits § related Paper Stuff..... and I have always the Feeling that the most difficult to find are good Photos with Insignias being worn...

Here's one I found searching for when the Sardinienschild was introduced.

No luck unfortunately so far in the albums, however one is interesting as it is a photo album / diary and just reading what he did.....mentions, battles, flights, leaves etc/ but no mention so far of a shield of leave packet!

He does make mention that his unit was known as the "Malaria Division"

Unfortunately I can find only when where he is wearing headdress and it is a small photo....blowing it up he does appear to have something on his cap but not good enough to confirm what it is.

Thank you Steve and Ian. Ian, difficult to confirm definitely, but the average form seems to be the Sardinia Shield. I am now convinced such Portraits like mine are quite hard to find....

You might have liked General Lungerhausen's picture (albeit of low quality) as well. You can see him here http://www.mymilitaria.it/liste_03/sardinienschild.htm . He was the first CO of the Division.

I checked my 90th Panzer Grenadier Division album too. it shows only a vehicle with the insignia.
