    Another 1914 EK 1 ID

How about this one? (And yes, it's part of a Spange combo.)

I think that core type was used by a number of makers, most commonly "WS," which is presumed but not proved to be Wagner & Sohn.

A shot of the pin, if it's original to the cross, may help us narrow it.

I could be wrong on the core... hopefully someone else will weigh in to confirm or refute.
    Best regards,

The frame of the cross looks like KAG style, the core seems to be the 2nd core type used by KAG.

A nice, believable looking combo there George.

George, you just made me a very happy guy!

Here's the reason, a so called 1939 Halb or Intermixed Schinkel that matches your Combo cross 100%.

A true Schinkel in the truest form! We need to drop the Intermixed and Halb part of its name once and for all!

Core on combo matches a KAG marked EKI but not the frame.

Edit: Found the core in SW and WS marked crosses too, just as Trev points out, a generic core.

I'd say that you're right, Carl! The frames are a match!

                    Well done Carl.

I had the same thought, and just got home to compare my Unknown Maker Schinkel () to George's photos, only to find you've done the work already!

Now we have to fix a maker to this cross, which shouldn't be too very hard now we know the core they use.
                    Best regards,

Has anyone figured out the maker yet?

I think this cross (frame and core) may be a match?

If you have it in-hand you could check for a mark.
                        Best regards,
