Based on the comment expressed above in the recent Army General's Uniform thread, I thought it might be amusing to get other forum members' opinions about whether indeed Mr Singer's observations are vaild, or not, and to learn about exactly where he has 'been wrong on a number of occasions'. We've all had the opportunity to assess his judgement, or lack thereof, for well over a year.

Since I know Mr Singer, I'll reserve my thoughts about this matter until we get some votes!

It's just too bad people can't figure out by themselves who to listen to, and why...

We all have "been wrong on a number of occations" that's not the point though. What counts is how often have some been right.

Luckily the uniform forum has not suffered from brain drain. Bryon and some others are clearly a great asset and make this forum the best.

I think Oom Bryan is a one of the most valuable assets on the forum, especially for cloth collectors. I got a beautiful m43 einheidsfeldmutze from him that I will treasure for ever. Rate it with my personilised signed copy of Nelson Mandela "Long walk to Freedom". Jacques

Appears to be a knowledgeable and experienced individual. Opinions from him are taken seriously when he gives them. I could do well to follow his example of offering minimal response to some posts. I wont vote however because experience has taught me that even the very best can be wrong more than one time and individual "experts" can have differing opinion. I read alot of his posts and am much impressed at his knowledge of Panzer insignias. someone to learn from. It can never hurt.

I would agree that he is a valued asset, and i do not entertain a doubt that he knows his stuff and provides good insights to those that choose to listen to his opinions. And they are just that, his opinions, whether one agrees or not is up to them. Like on old time dealer once told me, "it does not matter whether it is real or not, just buy what you like."

Well...

Everybody makes mistakes, and nobody can be 100% correct 100% of the time, however based on his posts that I've read and threads I've followed, I find Mr. Singer to be an extremely knowledgeable and experienced collector whose opinions I definitely value.

I also appreciate his willingness to post and contribute here on WAF, especially in a time where a lot of the experienced veteran collectors are jumping ship.
