    Hi everybody !
Im a bit confused....I been told by a universitys teacher that telephone numbers with three figures were used since 1900 till 1931..this dont mach..and I have found out that telephone numbers in Madrid in 1935 just one year before the outbreak of the war were FIVE numbers each.....maybe 3 plus the Prefix ????...I will keep investigating.
    Kind regards from Spain.

Hi Scott, great work on all the comparison pics, never knew there where so many variations of these.

Here are my two, first a single w/no 'balloon' and only the EGANA mark on the front.

                    Hi,

Spectre, congratulations for your very nice Medals set.
Which is the difference between the Spanish Red Cross colour White (like this one) and the other of colour "red"-more common , I guess..,? It is a kind of different grade?

                    regards

                    Ciano

                      Hi Ciano,

The Military Merit Cross in "Red" is a combat award. While the Military Merit Cross in "White", is for peace time actions or not in the face of the enemy. I would say it******180;s like the german KVK.

                      Regards,
                      Adolph.

                        Buenas Noches,

                        Gracias Adolph.
I didn´t know that... as I don´t know so much about the Spanish Medals...
Anyway I think that the great majority of the Members of the Legion Condor received the Red one Medal...Do you agree?
The white one normally is more expensive than the red one?

                        Regards

                        Ciano

                          Hi Ciano,

All members of the Legion Condor received the Campaign Medal, and then if they achieve any merit during the war they would receive the White or Red Military Merit Cross, or the higher War Cross, or the highest award for german personnel, the Military Medal. Then once in Germany they would receive their german equivalent, the Spanish Cross in different grades.

1- Campaign Medal --------- Bronze Spanish Cross
2- Military Merit Cross------- Silver Spanish Cross
                          3- War Cross----------------Gold Spanish Cross
4- Military Medal------------ Gold Spanish Cross with diamonds

I hope this little information gives you some basic idea.

                          Regards,
                          Adolph.

                            Ciano,
I forgot to tell you that these type of crosses, from this period, "Red" or "White" have almost the same price.

                            Regards,
                            Adolph.

Hello everyone great thread I can understand why Scott was a bit lost with all the different variants. I know medalbars is faked nowadays but those displayed here looks wartime and i generally trust medals on bars more. I have tried to mark different (not all because lack detail and reverse pic) types seen on medalbars displayed in this thread and have seen 4 different types with type 1-2 being the most common. the statistical material is still way to small - so keep em comming!

Type 1 Balloon, "Egena" vertical position on the OBV far right, no MM on REV.

                                4 pieces (incl. mine)

Type 2 No balloon, "Egena" vertical position on the OBV to the left, no MM on REV.

                                3 pieces

Type 3 No balloon, "EM" under the dragons claw on the OBV to the left, "Industria Egena" on REV on the helmets right in vertical position.

                                1 piece

Type 4 No balloon, no MM on the OBV, "Industria Egena" on REV on the helmets right in vertical position.

                                1 piece

                                Cheers Thomas
