      Poteau

      Those are awesome Then & Now pictures Patrick, thanks for sharing. I am really envious of our European members who can travel to all these famous sites so easily. I can't wait to get back over there someday soon.

      I took my son in 2003 and both halftracks were running at the time. We rode out in the German one and rode back in the American one.

        Poteau

        I wish the ride was longer but it was still a great experience. I definately recommend anyone visiting the area try to stop at the museum. Next time I want to ride in their Sherman! (Just kidding, I don't believe it runs).

          Great photo's. I have a question, does the Lufty soldier for sure carries a Felddivision smock? Can't it just be a Zeltbahn or something?

            Both are Fallschirmjäger - one wore a splinter jump smock, the other a Zeltbahn. As seen in "image 4" (post 14)

              Great contribution. This is still a great area and historical place.

              I will be visiting it again in 2 weeks time.

                [QUOTE=boyouLaGleize.;1868864]Hello gents.
                Probably the most popular tree of the Bulge.
                Thanks for looking.

                Are these trees Norway Spruce? Thanks for posting pictures, this landscape is very very similar to the area I live in.

                        Interesting photos from the modern time. This was a staged event as the Germans are marching towards Germany (East). The American unit was retreating West when ambushed so the German PR decided it looked better in reverse as the Americans advancing, than to show the actual retreat direction. Complete fabrication from the PR.

                          You are wrong, this is a mixture of real attacks and staged actions.

                            Which issue, could you post it? - But when I posted my pics 3 years ago I preferred not to show my friends faces without their agreement, as back then there were no plans for an article in ATB.

                              Hello,
                              Perhaps a few of the scenes are not faked.
                              The film from the American column is staged for sure, The Germans are attacking in reverse, this was documented many years ago, its clever propoganda. Just like the film of the egg frying on a Pz fender with the DAK...

                                Thats correct of course - I just wanted to point out that the first fotos (and film) show the real attack to Poteau.
