                            My guess was actually Italian 12 Rifle Regiment, but that is probably as wrong as you can get.

                              LW tropical field cap

                              ALain has seen photos of this cap before but the rest might find it interesting. Like Alain's cap it was made by Berolina (G. A. Huffmann in Berlin) and is dated 1941 but note that this one has ventilation grommets and the eagle was cut to the outline and zig zag stitched. There were lots of small legitimate variations like this even from the same company in the same year.
