    Etched bayo opinions

    Guys:

I'd like to get some opinions on two etched bayonettes that I have. Specifically, are they original and, if so, what a fair price would be to list them on the eStand.

Here's the first. It's a short bayo by Holler.

    Thanks much!

Ok, on to the next one. It's also etched on one side only and has no maker mark.

                            Drew,

I don't like either of them. The Holler's etch borders & overall detail are lacking what I would consider a period original.

While the quality of the Pack is a little better, the font & just general neatness of the lettering looks off as well. I don't have my copy of Techet's book handy to identify that etch pattern but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a Pack etch & additionally, the spanner nuts would make it simple to swap out an original plain blade for a postwar etched one. Someone more versed might have more details but I wouldn't feel comfortable with either in my collection.
