Hi John, the point you raise is very valid and the answer is I dont know and no dealer or collector can give you this certainty. I only buy groupings with original paperwork and original medals and only from reputable collectors or dealers. I also ask for 2nd opinions on value and originality before I buy. I guess that about the best a collector can do?
