    1939 EK1 Screwback by Juncker - Marked L/12

    Here is one of my nicest 1939 EKs for viewing. Although they did not come to me as a set, I have nestled this baby in a case which you can see here:

    The cross is of 3-piece construction and the core is magnetic. Hope you like it.

              I don't have a problem with the cross itself or the maker mark.
              Juncker used several L/12 marks, not to mention those used by Juncker's suppliers where they ordered complete crosses.

                  It is a proven fact that Juncker had several "L/12" stamps and several "2" stamps as well. I would also find it very strange if such a big company had only on stamp each.

                        So someone took a genuine Juncker unmarked screwback and engraved "L/12" into it after the war? That is REALLY had to believe! But each to his own.

                          I don't say one way or the other but we all know that marked examples go for more than unmarked, a good reason to put the correct maker's mark on a cross... just sayin'...

                            Indeed hard to believe.
                            Unmarked SB's are very rare.

                            Apart from that :
                            @Stefan: if you can check out the mark while having the cross in hand, it is very clear to see that the mark is struck, not engraved.
                            I had more with a mark like this one, you can see it under magnification.

                              If we are talking about a PB, you're correct.
                              But an unmarked L/12 SB will command a higher price then a marked one!
