Hi Gents,
Query on a couple of spare parts tins I picked up. Both are pale grey, post war re use ??.
First one I am familiar with. Early made with sprung leaf latches to close. Rivets on the sprung leaf. You can just make out a waffen under the paint and an oval to the right of the waffen. Any one know this manufacturer as I have only seen "prestag" on this style of tin.
Second one ive not seen before, pretty much the same assy, however the latches are now pressed to form a stiffening rib and are spot welded or brazed to attach to the lid. Looks like ayx 42 marked under the paint. Almost looks transitional to the ones normally seen for sale with no clips at all.
