    My new 8cm Mortar Display

    Hi all,

    The weather was so nice that i thought it would be a good idea to put my mortar outside in the sun and take a few pics of it.

              many thanks for your nice comments. It was a hell of a job to carry all the parts from the attic in the garden and back. The neighbours are not too confused as they know my weekness for a while. Besides i have not that much neighbours.

                Stunning Jens!!! Where did your mortar come from??? Its not the ground find one is it?

                  Hi Matt,

                  Of course its the ground found one i have already showed here. But now with a new color and some equipments. The mortar was found in the Harz Area (Germany) He saw action against allied forces. He was blow up by the mortar team together with 4 other mortars when they escaped.

                    Very nice indeed!


                    Now a mortar display wouldn't be complete without a look at what a real Grw 34 position looks like 64 years later.
                    This postition was one of the mortars belonging to Batallion Walther (mixed FJ and KM) along their last line of defence in June 1940 before the allies evacuated Narvik and the Norwegians had to capitulate.


                    Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
