In my experience the real scabbards are painted with a very hard gloss or semi-gloss black paint. The above scabbard looks like the wrong shade of black color, also it appears that it will be easy to scrape off.The fakes I have examined at recent shows also do not have the quality of an original. Most of these knives were used hard and can be frequently found with the blades sharpened, and actually a little short if held up to a scabbard.
