    fighting Knife help

I can honestly say that fighting knives aren't an area I'm particularily knowledgeable about. I have 2 that I use to spice up my mannequins. One is a pretty standard one that I don't have any doubts about. Now this one I got from a friend about 12 years ago. I can't recall ever seeing another one like it. Is it the real deal, fantasy or reproduction. It does look good on a display. Here are some pictures. Any assistance is appreciated. Jim

PS I could have but this in the edged weapons forum too, but figured fighting knives are really a piece of field gear like bayonets.

            Must be a makers mark.

As I understand it this type of stamp was only used for LW fighting knives.Last pic

Very interesting little knife. Anyone got any idea on the makers mark? It looks like a simplified version of that used by Wilhelm Clauberg of Solingen.

                Happy collecting, Peter

Could the maker be Anton Wingen?

I'm with you on this one,Mike, I would say its OK. Looks like quality to me. The Stewarts ones may well be knock offs of this type of original ! Nice knife DJ.
