        Hi Michael,

Nice examples!! Anthony Carter in his book about bayonet frogs identifies this variation as a late war modified frog for use with a new entrenching tool design. I believe the frogs are commonly called "etool frogs". The strap likely means it was made for mounted personnel, again, according to Carter.

        Regards, Leon

I am not comfortable with those, they look similar to Czech fakes I have seen. Mike, yours is a one looker, nice.

Sure don't Mike. I have been wrong before, so take it for what it's worth. I would have to look at it, but the leather, rivets and stitching and overall construction are not at all similar to yours which is what I expect to see. Would like to do a "sniff" test on them too.

I bet You are a sniffer (by the way.. .. Michel.. You missed leather carrier for a shovel dkk 44 on ebay )

Jeff has some concerns.. so I just asked.. IMHO Your frogs look Good - thats why I was also bidding on those. But additional pics are always good for us

                      Ciao !!!
