Waffen SS Y Straps - Original or Fake?

My guess is that these are often faked, but I have no idea how to tell the difference. Can anyone out there help?

Horrible czech fakes. Do not bid on them - they are on ebay.de now, arent they?

If it weren't for the silly stamps they would be a nice set of straps to reenact with in the field. They are just Czech ones, turned inside out, dyed, and resewn. Pay close attention to the snake-scale like pattern on the leather. This screams Czech 1950s. You do sometimes see Czech leather without it though. So beware that "late war G43 sling" with the folded end instead of a frog....especially if you see this pattern on it. I try to collect early 50s Czech stuff, but its hard to find much that is unmolested in some form...
