    Kriegsmarine Gas mask and Cannister

A weekend ago, my father, and friend from school, and I went to the militaria shop I always go to, and both me and my friend got some stuff.
But in my opinion, my friend got the best end of the deal. Unbeknownst to us then, this is a Kriegsmarine mask. I do not know why I had missed the eagles over the M's that day . Well, I asked him if I could come over to his house today to look at his M1 American helmet and take a second look at his gas mask. The mask was on a styrofoam head, so I could not look at it right away, but I got to look nice and close at the cannister. After opening the spare lens case to find no spare lenses, I then saw this:

After seeing that stamp(which he had no clue what it was), I told him you have yourself a Kriegsmarine gas mask! I then immediately went to this fine forum of ours to look for similar examples, and almost instantaniously found a close example. He had such a look on his face after this, and he did a bit of a victory jig(lucky bugger).

Then he returned shortly, and sure enough, the mask had a huge KM eagle inside it(how I missed it last weekend I do not know ), as well as the navy style name tag and roll number tag. I wish I had the $85 he got it for at that time .

Here is the lucky owner of the mask. You can clearly see the cap on the side that can be unscrewed.

After confirming to him that it was all matching and KM, he said he is glad to have a friend like me who can help him with his militaria. I thank God I have a forum to go to that helps me learn so much to help people like him.
Thank you all you members for helping me when I need it!

                    Hi

Great KM items and 100 % correct. I have in my collection both masks and several canisters that exactly match in stamping. Very nice and congrats!

You'd be hard pressed to find a normal gasmask like that in England for 45 quid!!! Being Km just tops off a beautifuly preserved mask!!
                      All the best
