    snow camo Patronenkasten, wartime paint?

    Hi,

I got this ammo box cheap on ebay. I believe it has a chance to have wartime camo color on it looking at the yellowish paint and aging. Please let me know what you think!

    Thanks!

I was following that one but had the impression it was post war paint IMO.

Postwar IMO. The basic can has quite a bit of wear and aging, as it should. Even on the inside. The white portions have very little.

          Thanks for your input!

We have all seen camo helmets that were quite heavily used but have pristine camo paint on them. So might have been not used too much anymore after it was painted? Maybe an option?

It also looks like it was once completely factory sand painted. Has anyone seen sand color ammo boxes that were over painted with factory green paint?

          Best regards

          Ben

Also Ben, what type of can is that? Any markings? I don't recall seeing a WWII German MG like that.

              Hi Willi,

isnt it a regular Patronenkasten 41?

I dont have it in front of me yet. I can see a mark on this picture:

              Best regards

Yes, of course. My mistake. I was thinking about the Patronenkasten 34, which is what I seem to encounter here in the US.
