    Special MG34 sling :)

Got this really nice MG34 sling to share with you all, and it's got quite a few rare and special things all-in-one!!

The rear buckle is not only waffenampt stamped, but it also has a maker's logo (?) to the opposite side, and has a Waffenmeister added serial number "5768b" to gun it was carried with!

Three separate markings all on one sling buckle!!

Moving onto the leather there is a FULL factory makers name still present, which I've never seen still preserved on one of these MG slings... and looking at Bergflak's great website, I can't see one noted down on there either, only maker's codes.

I can't make out the whole name, but hopefully someone may know of this maker?

To me it looks like it reads "G. J. Ens??kar" "OHRDRUF" "1939"

Below that is a nicely stamped WaA163 marking... just for good measure

Any help on the maker name/logo and general comments are very much appreciated. Thank you for looking

Perhaps from the same unit, with very touchy Waffenmeister? Or coming from Norway? See Reidar's web again, the sling with the numbered buckle #7549b and same logo, pics 11 and 12:

        Hello Haubi,
That's great, and another 'b' block number as well ! So is that 3 we currently know of now or are there others you know of also? It would also be great if maybe you could post yours up here in this thread too....?

        4167 b
        5768 b
        7549 b

Yes Carles, I would've thought so from the same unit or something. The one on Reidars website was found in Norway?? With mine I'm not sure on where it came out of originally.... but it seems interesting how they're all from these 'b' block MG34's... so I would say these 3 were once together somewhere in the world!

        Regards

I'd say Norway because Bergflak is based in Norway...

Perhaps there are more slings numbered in the same way.

No need to worry, the stamps to the leather are 100% original

Yep that's true! I would also definitely say that more slings were probably numbered this way, especially in this 'b' block group, but the only question is how many more are left surviving today?!

                    hello, i don't think.

For MG34 , if one follows the numbering of MG , the index b appears in every manufacturer in 1940.

                    look here:
