          Nice can, lovely patina. I think that the 'D' is for Draeger. They make anaesthetic machines today.

            The "D" on the bottom stands for "dicht", meaning waterproof. This can originally had a rubber gasket on the lid.

              I agree with you about the "D" for waterproof, but have never seen one with a rubber gasket. Does anyone have one with a gasket that they an show?
