    Traffic control paddle help please

HI good evening, I did a house call this week to a daughter of a British vets to buy uniforms and kit , there were a few German items not my area at all but the deal was ` buy it all or not at all` .

Some of the German items looked a bit iffy ? bad 1960`s copies I think he must have added ,

This paddle was part of the lot - tried using the search button but got no results for this type - am I correct in thinking this is a post war German item with fake eagles added ??

    many thanks .

I am by no means an expert in traffic paddles, but I agree that you should be concerned. I am used to seeing the metal part more "tear drop" shaped, rather than round. The eagle should be a "Polizei" style, in my opinion.

        Regards,

        Kent G.

It depends on what kind you know. Round ones are correct, at least for the Wehrmacht, perhaps police ones are tear drop:

              I wouldn't say that mate.

It looks a lot like the Bundeswehr paddle, you see them in use a lot where I live.

The tank crews on the ranges use them for traffic control from the turrets of their wagons.

I have seen both older ones and the newer ones with reflective paint, a dead giveaway.

I will see if the Kommandanture have any lying about tomorrow for comparison if it helps?

              Jock
