what a lovely looking item. always thought these wide carrying straps were navy specific. so this may be a navy issue breadbag. early grey colour and extra loop decoration lines at the front. name tape too. a superb piece. early kreigsmarine, id say.Comment

cant speak for the language used, sorry. but if its ww2 german navy, virtually any european nationality was a welcome recruit. especially as the war went on. its known polish nationals fought in german army uniform. such name tags in wehrmacht tunics would make interesting reading. i sold a luft bb recently with the identical front loop indentation. cant say if this was a single manufacturers quirk or what...let me know if you want to buy a km towel to go with it! ;^)Comment
