Those scratches are IMO nothing to worry about and not to imitate 'original use'. These scratches look very superficial (only surface) so could have happened by post-war handling.

The real wear so to speak looks fine to me.

Any possibility in researching the name?

Can you get better pics from the red cross and name? The scratches look indeed to new.
A lot of scratches just around the rusty piece on the name, looks artificial..

the container is not pair with gasmask, container slings, gascape, everything is original but it was put together for collector, not in field conditions

Who said so ? you ? How many gasmask sets you ever had , how many you ever handled , that you saying something like that ? You can't detrmine if it was wartime or not wartime period done without knowing history of it.

Do you know how many items were in period put togehther at front or in second line ? Thousands ! why ? becasue they were damged etc . so please don't write statments like that if don't know the story behind it !

The canister and straps are early style ( pre war style so these are matching set as far as see !). The gasmask is also early style green rubber gasmask so also could be in period exchanged for damaged gasmask.
The only not matching item could the gascape bag is which is the only late war item but ALSO could been added wartime period ( as many items simply were damaged or were lost ).

For some reason my browser won't let me see most of the photos and I can only see the last one with the Red Cross painted on the bottom of the canister. My question would be why paint a Red Cross on the bottom of it?

Is it painted on the lid also?

                          Kind Regards,
                          Simon.

                              Hello,

                              I received better pictures :

Duv, you're right for the gascape and container slings, the seller had said to me.

Simon, no red cross on the lid.

JanB, I have not information found with the name.
