Please help to identify this metal box?

    Hello

I got those pictures the other day of this metal box. Presumably it was used in some form by the German Wehrmacht, but it could also be a Russian item because it was recovered on the Eastern Front. Anybody got any idea what this thing is?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

My first thought was a Panzerbüchse 39 ammo box, but when you compare the two it is very obvious that it is not.

          Honestly I have no idea

I will get you guys a picture with a ruler or something for dimensions comparison.

So far I could not find any markings, but I have to check again very thoroughly.

Should be marked on the side (byd or bwz)

I also have the H.Dv. and pictures of the inside with contents if you're interested.
