guys could you please give me your opinion about this watch. it has no maker mark so could be duty watch ? It was found with II german militaria. I waiting for your opinion. thanks in advance.

Looks like a period watch, however I would only accept duty watches when they have the D ..... H stamp on the back. and those usually do have a makers mark, often Swiss or German.Comment

I agree with the remarks above, but I would add that it was very common for soldiers, NCO and especially officers to wear their own watches rather than be issued a contract service watch. The private worn watches could be purely civilian commercial designs or they could be of designs that were "inspired" by military styles and even sold in military item retail stores.
I would think that the watch that you show was German military worn including the band that is unusual by looks very practical for a military band of that period...that is a cut above the standard leather band on issue watches.

The design sure looks like Dienst Uhr (Service watch)... Its spot on!
Perhaps the back has been switched?

Unfortunately I couldn't find any other markings except for pointed arrow at the edge of the back of watch ( see the photos ( 3rd from the botom or 5 from top ).Comment

I have seen my share of watches taken from German soldiers and in my observations it is not that un-common to find those that looked like the military issue but were not. Only some soldiers were autorized to be issued watches...mostly determined by rank and by job/assignment, the others did without or owned their own. I think that this watch is typical of a watch that would have been sold by a canteen or military effects retailer.
Everyone can and will call it what they want, but for me this is a WWII German military used watch...just not an issue one.Comment

Snap on back could be possible, but I think, this is a civilian watch in military style of the 40`s. Not a service watch. No markings, wrong hands, but could be a very interesting movement (maybe carree UROFA 58?). Can you please show us a photo?
