Is this a good price for a gasmask!

I was considering going after it, just wondering weather you all thought I should go after it! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2229458967&ssPageName= ADME:BS:US:28! Your help is appreciated!

    Hi

IMO is the canister is a bit worn but seem to be ok! But the spring operated closing mech. strap (webbing) is gone, that can't be fitted again! Otherwise the mask and filterunit look fine to me.
You really need to believe you will recieve the stuff from the picture, be carefull. I guess if you look a bit hard the same would turn up everywhere else to the same price or just a bit more.

    Regards

    Kim

      grovb,

Why get it from Latvia? Save a bit more and get one from here they are around, no need to risk overseas transactions. Just my 2 cents

Hi, I would take Kim's good advice. This seller is a well known faker in the field of German steel helmets, and has only tonight been discussed in the helmet forum.

I would spend your cash elsewhere.

        Cheers, Ade.

            Gas Mask cannister/Mask

            Grovb,

Save your money!! You have a better chance of finding one in better condition here in the states and much less expensive. You would pay more in shipping than it's actually worth. I don't know why folks spend so much money for this kind of example from overseas...I guess it's the appeal that it was there that hooks most folks. The problem with that is you wind up paying more for shipping & handling than what the item is actually worth on the collectors market. This is especially true in those countries that have the EURO or in former eastern block countries where postage & customs is extortionate. I just traded off a bunch of Gas mask cannisters to a dealer friend. Complete gasmask cannisters $50 and empty cannisters for $25 (all were 44 & 45 dated). I'm sure there are many other deals out there as well. Send me a PM. Bill Petz
