hey Guys, was wondering if any of you ever saw numbers of this configuration on a set of late war Y straps before. I just got these last week. I really like them. late war construction all around to include the wire back strap variation. the back strap has the same overall wear as the rest of the set and Im hoping it came together out of the factory as is. has anyone ever seen another '43 dated example with this version of wire strap attached? also as asked, what are the numbers? a factory cut number? does the "3" possibly stand for the production date of the back strap in question? any thoughts/comments much appreciated. thanks, Glenn

ink stamp is probably factory maker code or something.
I had straps with many of ink stamps, and IMHO they meant nothing serious, any date, regiment stamps etc.
the ink stamp which could be seen on photo is factory stamp for marking the piece of leather which/ batch stamp for further production process.
As Michal said nothing seroius - only production line markings.

yes Chris, Im very happy with them. I have a mid war typical construction set so this late war set up is a great variation for my '43 NCO dude.
