It appears the seller has some good feedback if that means anything but as far as the water bottle, I have never seen a unit marked strap on a water bottle before. Of course this doesn't mean that they do not exist simply because I have never seen one. Find out if anyone else has seen one marked like this.
BTW, the water bottle appears to be original and in good condition aside from the markings but I would hate to condemn something just because I haven't seen one before.

Ive seen unit marks stamped into straps on prewar canteens, although they are usually on the inside of the leather strap not "showing it".
I dont trust it.

Original unit marked field gear is generally pre-war or early and is marked by the Kompanie or Bataillon that issued the item, not by the Regiment, and of course on straps the marking was placed on the inside. I am sure this is a fake marking.

I have to agree with the comments above. The canteen is 100% correct and it great shape.
The markings on the strap give me pause.....& the price....needless to say this guy is way out to lunch.

My experience also. I don't trust this marking on the outerside and using too big letters...canteen itself is ok, worth about 90 usd or so?

Realistically it would should be worth more without the extra text that was added. I wouldn't pay more then canteen value for this.

As mentioned above, unit marked equipment is almost all early war and was done mostly on company or batallion level on the inside

This is at least a mid-war canteen with high level markings on the outside.
I say fake all the way. A shame to damage a good canteen like that.

WAY, WAY over priced, markings found on pre-war items on the inside of the straps, stay far away from this.
