I had been hearing for years that these were used for vehicle crews, but these are the first photos I have seen. Superb!

Very early style 6 mag. pouch illustrated in a photo from Klaus Peters' book, Fj Rgt.3. This photo was probably taken in 1938.

These photos seem to prove my theory Wow, I was right about the MG belt tunic, now this. I feel so intuitive

i recognize this carrying strap as the same as featured in a previous thread of a pioneer shoulder bag...the owner felt the strap was the rare accompanying carrying strap to the bag. either that was right, and this ammo pouch has one, or else they were right for both, or else a general 'pioneer's' carrying strap, for use on engineer's gear, such as demolition bags and these six-mag pouches.

Superb photo! Thanks for sharing this one!

It appears since this is an old thread that some of the photos have been removed. It is also nice to see what we had to say 7 years ago and how much we have learned since then. That is what makes this hobby a "thinking hobby".

There have been additional photos of FJ wearing these poiches over the past few years. They, if I recall correctly, are on a couple of threads on this topic. Also, more information on fakes.

                            Hello,

Is the same model used both by FJ and in AFV's?
