You would have to take better close up shot on the runes.

Hi there,on the SS reproduction cans that I have seen(and there's quite a few around)they have all had a different closure/lid with the small hole on the right and with a small flower like emblem on the lids leading edge. These repros were said to have been made with the original tooling.I don't think that the lettering is quite as sharp when compared with an original can.Below are some pics of the fake can which is the grey one and what I believe is my original SS can.Regards Hans.

              Hi Hans

Here a picture of my Sandrik can

The biggest giveaway that is vissible on the ebay picture (I assume the can is offered on ebay ) is the welding round the handle. as you can see the welding on original ones is all the way , while on the fakes, you can spot an unwelded area.....

Hello. I also have in my collection an original SS Sandrik can, but, more unusually, this one, without the central runes. I am given to believe that this variant is far less common than that with the runes. Does anybody else have one of these? Both of the Sandriks were acquired locally in Normandy, in the area of the "Roncey Pocket".

Haven't seen fakes of these here yet, only rarely originals. Good to know these are faked too (what isn't?).
