Without trawling back through a search - when this subject was last visited I thought the Sanitaeter was without the hook and the hooked version was GbJg or Cavalry?
I have one of each but it was a few months ago and I appended pics of my pair - unless old age is setting in!
If I've got it wrong forgive me and I'll knuckle down and search out that last thread.

These canteens, when with a carabiner, are generally a GJ modification made to the classical hooked Sani canteens. Here's one below, on my GJ impression (you'll have to trust me on the fact it's snapped with an alu karabiner to the breadbag though, just like the second one in the background). Now regarding the canteen that started this thread, it's a classical hooked Sani one (as it was already said), despite the fact that the bakelite cup is not of the specific Sani model.
