              Thanks for the info! I've now started a Fake file for Y straps. It has been a good education so far. Here is a picture of what I want the Y straps to go with.

                        Hello again Eric,
                        What a nice HBT tunic. You should have said in the first place that you wanted to set up a Kanonier.
                        Infantry Y-straps were not issued to the non mounted personel of the Artillery branch of service. And mounted personel didn't have this "heavy model", but the light one, meant for them and Officers. Some light model examples received vertical D-rings in order to fasten the Packtasche 40.
                        My advice, buy the Y-straps and change the shoulderstraps for Infantry ones, or any other branch of service that received the Y-straps.

                        if i can add something....a nice painted steel buckle would be great for an EM at this stage of the war...

                                Looking back it only took 8 Y straps to find the right one.

                                Can't wait until I get the Y strap I have on hold!
