A Frame Leather Horizontal Straps - Why Are So Many Missing From Frames?

Seems half of the A Frames are missing the leather horizontal straps with the "three keeper" setup. We frequently see some with other straps inserted to pass off as A frame type.

I know one can slip them out and that explains a lot of it. But, where did they all go? We see lots of other kinds of straps turning up all the time. I don't recall these popping up. I don't think they broke, the verticals would be most likely to break, right?

Here is my one and only I have ever found and I threw it back. I kept it figuring I would never see another.....and I haven't. Thoughts?

To be honest, I don't know where they all went, but the same question goes for the ZF4's... why are there so many ZF4's and so little mounts

As for the straps availability: They can be found from time to time on ebay.de. I myself have found about 5 straps until now, so they are available !
